About This Role:
The Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) team, within
the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire a
Career Navigator to join their team. This position will work on a
statewide professional development program in the area of childcare
and education, focusing on individuals and programs serving birth
to 13 years. This position will be responsible for recruiting and
retaining individuals in the early childhood field and supporting
career advancement for those who wish to or are currently serving
young children and their families. This position must understand
the professional preparation and development opportunities
available to prospective and current members of the early childhood
field in order to provide individualized career advising and
support.
The Career Navigator will provide virtual and in-person support for
career planning and advancement within the early childhood field
through a variety of methods, including coaching, consultation,
mentoring, and facilitation of peer-to-peer learning opportunities;
this includes developing written training plans and Individualized
Professional Development Plans (IPDP). This position is responsible
for providing expertise, technical assistance, and acting as the
point-of-contact for resources and training in an identified
specialty area (i.e., higher education, CDA support, director
support, accreditation) for staff, early childhood care and
education professionals, and other organizations. Additionally,
this position may provide training on early childhood career
pathways and opportunities, most of which will be conducted online
through Canvas.

accessible, professional development opportunities to family
childcare providers, childcare center staff, and other early
education professionals throughout Kansas. KCCTO is a sponsored
project of Kansas State University and the College of Health and
Human Sciences. The mission of KCCTO is to ensure high-quality
early education and care through professional development and
support for those who work with and on behalf of young children.
KCCTO is the current contracted agency by the Kansas Department for
Children and Families (DCF) for the Infant-Toddler Specialist
Network and the Early Childhood Workforce Professional Development
Program.
The College of Health and Human Sciences is home to six academic
departments (Applied Human Sciences; Food, Nutrition, Dietetics &
Health; Hospitality Management; Interior Design & Fashion Studies;
Personal Financial Planning; and Kinesiology), the Center on Aging,
Physician Assistant program, and a Nursing partnership with Wichita
State University. The College enrolls more than 2,300 undergraduate
and 400 graduate students and employs more than 115 full-time
faculty members in teaching, research, and Extension positions ().

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
$57,000 - $60,000
